After breakfast, visit Pergamum. Visit the Acropolis and the
famous library which once had 200 000 volumes. Then visit
the Asclepion, the famous medical center of the ancient world.
Transfer to Izmir airport for a flight [price not included]

to get a panoramic view of the region and continues with the
Goreme Valley which is the highlight of the day. This valley
houses the Goreme Open Air Museum with churches hewn out of
the rock and colourful frescoes inside. The next stop is Zelve
and the caves of this ancient village, continuing to Avanos
and Cavusin villages. Lunch will be served en-route at a typical
regional restaurant. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

3 CAPPADOCIA
After breakfast you will visit the underground city of Kaymakli
or Derinkuyu which were carved out by refugees in the early
Christian era to escape from prosecutors. Lunch en-route to

nest stop will be in Konya which was the capital of the Selçuk
turks in the 13th century. This city which host the Mevlana
Museum is also known for its theological school of whirling
dervishes. Lunch will be served enroute. Arrival in Pamukkale
will be late in the afternoon. Diner and overnight will be
at the hotel in Pamukkale.

DRIVE TO KUSADASI:
Day 4: After breakfast at the hotel the visits will
begin early in the morning with the ruins of the magnificent
temple of Apollo, continuing with the breathtaking theater
and the fascinating necropolis. The last stop before lunch
will be at the great baths of Hierapolis. Lunch will be taken
en route at a typical restaurant and the afternoon will continue
with a visit to Aphrodisias. This is one of the most recent
discoveries in Turkey. This ancient city is dedicated to the
Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. The drive to Kusadasi will begin
after this visit. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel
in Kusadasi.

TOUR OF EPHESUS AND THEN DRIVE TO IZMIR:
Day 5: After breakfast at the hotel there
will be a morning tour of Ephesus. This is the best preserved
and the most often visited of all sites in Turkey. It is dedicated
to Artemis who is the Virgin goddess of Chase. The visits
will continue with the House of Virgin Mary which is world
famous and the interesting Selçuk Museum. Lunch will
be served in Selçuk and the drive to Izmir will follow.

GULETTE CRUISES ALONG THE TURKISH COAST
Gulettes
are traditional wooden Turkish schooners. They are hired out
with full crew, enabling passengers to enjoy themselves while
travelling to many interesting sights. A gulette is not a
luxury vessel. The cabins are small, but functional with one
double bed. The private bathroom has a hand basin and hand-held
shower. [Do not forget your towels!]. The meals are simple,
but delicious with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. The
