SIGHTSEEING IN BUDAPEST

3.1 City Tour
Passing by the parliament we cross the Danube on the Margaret
bridge (Margaret-island) and drive to the royal castle on
the Buda side, where we visit the Fishermens' Bastion and
the Matthias Church (interior visit). After the citadel ,
we cross Elisabeth Bridge and drive the city-park towards
heroes' square. Passing by the opera and St. Stephen's basilica
we reach hotel inter-continental, where the tour ends.

Grand City Tour
Take the opportunity for a visit of the impressive house of
parliament. After: a walk around Hungary's largest building,

Szentendre Nostalgia
We take you to the picturesque Villa Szentendre. After a promenade
through the baroque centre of the city, a visit to the ceramic-museum,
to the confectionery-museum and then enjoy coffee and cake
in a traditional café. You will have the opportunity
for shopping. By boat we return to Budapest on the Danube
(marvellous view on the royal castle). The tour ends at the
pier/city centre.

Sisi Tour
Visit to the former summer-residence of queen Elizabeth (Sisi)
in Gödöllö (the second largest baroque chateau
in the world). Interior visit and welcome drink. Tour through
the gardens of the castle to the royal stables and the riding
school. Coffee & cake at the palace cafe. Drive to the
capuchin abbey of Mariabesnyö. Visit of the abbey and
the tomb of the Grassalkovich dynasty. Return to Budapest.
The tour ends at the city centre.

Budapest by Night - The Illuminated 'Paris of the East'
Spend an enjoyable evening in a traditional restaurant in
the hills of Buda. After an aperitif we serve you a 3-course
menu with wine accompanied by a varied folkloric show programme.
Returning to Budapest you have a marvellous view on the illuminated
city from the citadel. Farewell drink in the castle district.

Danube Tour
An excursion into Hungary's history. We lead you to Visegrad,
the former royal residence (fascinating view on the Danube
valley) and to Esztergom (centre of the catholic church).
After the interior visit of the cathedral and lunch (3-course
menu), we carry on to the baroque artists' village Szentendre
(guided walk). Return to Budapest on the Danube by boat. The
tour ends at the pier in the city centre.

Lake Balaton
Lake Balaton is "the sea of the Hungarians". After
arrival at lake Balaton, we visit the traditional spa Balatonfüred
(promenade next to the peninsula Tihany, the famous nature-reserve
(interior visit of the abbey, founded in 1051). Following
the lunch in a traditional Csarda (3-course course menu with
wine), we cross the lake by ferry (opportunity for a walk).
On our way back to Budapest , you will have the opportunity
to taste the excellent wines of the region (wine-tasting included)
- tour ends at the hotel.

Puszta Tour
Spend an unforgettable day in the Puszta. We drive to Kecskemet
(guided walk), and further on to Lajosmizse, where you will
be greeted with a traditional welcome-drink. After the great
performance of the famous horsemen and a carriage ride through
the Puszta, a typical meal (3 course menu with wine) accompanied
by gipsy music, will be served in the Csarda. Return to Budapest
and to the hotel.

Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter.

3 Prague
In the morning visit the Prague Castle district including
St Vitus Cathedral, Hradcany [Prague Castle] and the famous
Golden Lane. Lunch in a typical Czech Restaurant. Afternoon
and evening at leisure.

4 Prague - Budapest
After breakfast departure for a day's trip to Budapest. Drive
through constantly changing landscapes, passing the towns
of Brno, Drasenhofen, Zissersdorf, Hainburg and Nickelsdorf.

Flamenco or similar.

5 Budapest
Morning sightseeing tour of Budapest, including Hero's Square
with the Millennium Monument and important public buildings.
The tour continues to Gellert Hill and the Castle District,
including a visit to St Matthew's Church and Fishermen's Bastion.
From here you have a spectacular view over the city. Lunch
at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening you will
have the opportunity to participate in a traditional folkloric
dinner [optional].

6 Budapest - Vienna
Drive from Budapest via Székesfehérvár
to Lake Balaton, the largest steppe lake in Europe and one
of the most popular resort areas in Hungary. Visit to the
peninsula of Tihany and opportunity for lunch. Afterwards
the journey continues along the lake via the spa resort of
Sarvar and the historical town of Sopron to the Austro-Hungarian
border and through the Burgenland back to Vienna. Arrive round
1800.
