of Mirrors and Queen's apartments) your guide will enthrall
you on the life of the Kings.

the King and Queen's apartments and free time in the palace

visit to the palace and the gardens. The musical fountain
display revives the reign of King
Louis XIV. He ordered remarkable works in order to provide
the numerous fountains and ponds with 1,333 gallons of water
for a 1 hour fountain display.
This tour includes: a guided visit of the State Apartments
(Hall of Mirrors) and the main fountains and Neptune pond
located in the palace gardens.

Versailles
is more than a palace surrounded with beautiful gardens. It
also has a huge park where one can discover two small castles
named Grand and Petit Trianons, former summer residences for
the Kings who loved to rest and forget about the "Etiquette"of
the Court.
In the morning, guided visit to the State Apartments (Hall
of Mirrors, Queen's Bedroom) and free time to take a walk
in the French style gardens. Free time for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit the two Trianons and stroll
in the park up to Marie-Antoinette's Hamlet.

as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, the Cathedral is still
today an important centre for Christian pilgrims. Famous for
its stained-glass windows and wonderful colours dating back
to the 12th and 13th centuries known as the "blue of
Chartres".
The tour includes: Drive through the Beauce flat open country-side.
Guided visit to the cathedral. Free time to stroll around
the cathedral.

Giverny

Inspired
by the beautiful, peaceful and colourful country-side of Giverny,
Claude Monet settled here in 1883.
This tour includes: a guided visit of the wonderful flower
gardens, and the
famous Japanese bridge. Free time is included to visit Monet's
home and former studio.
The afternoon finishes with either shopping or a stroll up
to the American museum.

Auvers sur Oise and Giverny
A day with Van Gogh and Monet plus lunch at the American Museum

Vincent
Van Gogh spent the last months of his life at Auvers painting
one canvas each day. He died at Auvers and was buried in the
small cemetery of the village. Claude Monet lived at Giverny
from 1883 until his death in 1926. In the surroundings of
his home, Monet created the famous flower and water garden
with its Japanese bridge which became his main source of inspiration.
During this period, thousands of American painters came to
France to discover the new French artistic trends. Claude
Monet was a particular interest to the Americans and many
of them studied at Giverny.
This tour includes: a guided visit to the charming village
of Auvers-sur-Oise and to Van Gogh's grave. Free time to take
pictures of the Auberge Ravoux where Vincent Van Gogh stayed.
After a drive through the impressionist scenery, lunch (drinks
included) will be served at the American Museum of Givemy.
Free time to visit the museum. A visit to Monet's home and
studio, and a guided visit of his gardens. Short free time
before our return to Paris.
