DISCOVER FRANCE

by ROAD and BOAT

In France everyday things really count: eating, drinking, dressing and shopping. We invite you to discover this magical and romantic country and the wonderful sights in her capital.

Paris is a romantic city with a unique atmosphere, beautiful buildings and parks. The city has wonderful sights: the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic and geographic heart of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees are some of the famous landmarks. The Louvre is the largest and most famous museum in the world. The city is also famous for its great shows at theatres like the Moulin Rouge and the Lido.

The Ile de France, the area surrounding Paris, offers a taste of provincial French live with its slower, gentler pace. The most famous buildings here are Versailles, the Baroque palace of Louis XIV and Chartres, one of the most beautiful cathedrals. In the countryside, not far from Paris are many towns and villages that are attractive and historic. Interesting places for the tourist to visit are the Renaissance chateaux in the Loire valley, Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel and Reims, the capital of the Champagne area. At Auvers Vincent van Gogh spent the last months of his life and Claude Monet was inspired with the peaceful countryside of Giverny where he lived and painted for more than 40 years.
