3. NILE CRUISE AND CITY PACKAGE:

Day 1
Depart from Johannesburg International

Day 2: Cairo
Tour of the Pyramids, Valley Temple and Sphinx, with a visit to the Papyrus Institute and Perfume factory. Tour of Memphis and Sakkara.
Overnight at a **** hotel.

Day 3: Cairo - Luxor
Early morning flight to Luxor.
A.M. Embarkation before lunch
P.M. Afternoon at leisure

Day 4: Cruise from Luxor via Esna to Edfu
A.M. Cross the West Bank.
Visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, The temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
P.M. Sail to Esna. Cross the lock. Sail to Edfu and overnight.

Day 5: Edfu - Aswan
A.M. Visit the temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo.
P.M. Visit the temple shared by he two Gods Sobek and Haroeris.
Sail to Aswan and overnight.

Day 6: Aswan
A.M. Disembarkation after breakfast.
Visit the High Dam and the Temple of Philae.
Fly back to Cairo and overnight.

Day 7: Cairo
Half day tour of the Egyptian Museum.
Shop till you drop in the Khan El Khalili Bazaars.
Flight after midnight to Johannesburg.

4. EGYPT B OPTIONAL SIGHTSEEING TOURS

4.1 PYRAMIDS, SPHINX & VALLEY TEMPLE
Drive 12 km from the centre of Cairo and visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world B the Pyramids of Giza B the great Cheops, 479 ft high, Khefren at 470 ft high and Mycernius at 217 ft high, all towering majestically over the silent and cryptic denizen of the Desert, the wondrous Sphinx

4.2 MEMPHIS & SAKKARA
Drive along a canal in a picturesque rural area to Memphis, the capital of the Old Kingdom. View the colossal reclining statue of Ramses II, the Alabaster Sphinx, and the ruins of the Temple of Ptah where the Apis Bulls were worshipped. Proceed to the Necropolis of Sakkara to view the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the Serapeum, the Tomb of Ty, the Tomb of Ptah B Hotep, and the burial chamber of Ounas with its richly inscribed walls.

4.3 EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
Visit the Egyptian Museum, filled with thousands of Pharaonic artifacts, including the fabulous treasures of Tut Abkh Amon.

4.4 KHAN EL KHALILI
Roam through the ancient twisting passages of the Khan El Khalili, Cairo's famous bazaar. It is not only a shop-a-holics= paradise, but also an Utopia where you can witness copper being turned into treasures and Asmell the aroma of coffee and spice and carpets and mice!

4.5 OLD CAIRO
Visit Old Cairo, the site of the Coptic Museum housing early Christian artifacts, the Hanging Church, dating back to to 4th centuary, the Church of Abu Serga, where Jesus is said to have taken refuge, Church of St. George, and the Mosque of Amr, the first Mosque built in Egypt.

4.6 CITADEL & MOSQUES
Tour the Citadel, the medieval fortress of Salah El Din and the location of the beautiful Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Proceed to the Sultan Hassan Mosque, built between 1356 B 60, it is one of the largest in the world. Directly opposite is the Mosque of Rifai, where members of the ex-royal family are entombed, as well as the Shah of Iran.

4.7 PHARAONIC VILLAGE
Located on Jacob's Island on the southern outskirts of Cairo, this complex of reconstructed temples, village, workshops and canals provides a living demonstration of life in ancient Egypt.

4.8 CRUISING RESTAURANT

The distant past unfolds before you with its long processions and begins to tell tales of wonder.

4.10 ALEXANDRIA
Visit the Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, and the Greco B Roman Museum. Enjoy lunch at a first class restaurant. Drive via the corniche and its string of beaches to tour the Montaza Palace and Gardens.
