4 SIGHTSEEING IN PRAGUE

4.1 City tour
Passing by Vysehrad castle and the Charles bridge we cross the Moldavia river to reach the lesser town. We drive on to Loretto and to the Hradschin (approx. 1½ hours guided walk) where we visit Prague's most famous sights: the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Golden lane.
We pass by the Smetana Theatre, the Parliament and the National museum and return to the centre, where the tour ends.

Departures in Winter: Daily at 9:30 with additional departures on Fri, Sat at 13:30

4.2 Prague by boat

We visit Vysehrad, Prague's oldest castle and first residence of the Czech kings, from where you have a fantastic panorama of the city, passing by St. Peter and St. Paul's Church and the National Cemetery, we reach the banks of the Moldavia river. Coffee and cake will be served whilst a boat trip leading past the National Theatre, the Prague Castle and the Lesser Town. We continue across the Charles Bridge and following the Coronation road reach the old town square, where the tour ends.

4.3 Castle of Karlstejn

We lead you along the rivers Moloavia and Berounka to the most impressive Bohemian Gothic Castle of Karlstejn, situated on a dominating rock, surrounded by deep forests. We walk for about 20 min. (up hill!) To reach the Royal Palace, founded in the 14th century by emperor Charles ]v, to protect the treasures of the kingdom (interior visit). Return to Prague . End of tour in city centre.

4.4 Prague by night

Prague's historic centre is illuminated at nighttime. Enjoy an evening full of atmosphere and Bohemian specialities. After a tour of the illuminated Prague, we serve you a typical bohemian dinner with beer or wine, accompanied by a colourful folklore-programme. We continue to the Prague Castle, where you can enjoy the marvellous panorama of the illuminated city. The tour ends at your hotel.

4.5 Bohemian Highlights: Medieval treasures

Through the outskirts of Prague we take you to the luxurious Konopiste Castle where you will visit it's fascinating collections of historical weapons, paintings, tapestries and hunting trophies. After a typical Bohemian lunch we carry on through the enchanted forests to the gothic Castle of Karistejn (interior visit of the royal palace). Driving along the Berounka and the Moldavia we return to Prague. End of tour in city centre.

Day 1 (Sunday) Vienna
Transfer, city sightseeing tour

Day 2, Vienna - Prague
Departure at 08h00 from the Vienna State Opera House to Prague via Haugsdorf [border crossing] where we will arrive in the early afternoon. Afternoon city tour including the old city with Wenceslas Square, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Don Giovanni or similar.

Day 3, Prague
In the morning visit the Prague Castle district including St Vitus Cathedral, Hradcany [Prague Castle] and the famous Golden Lane. Lunch in a typical Czech Restaurant. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 4, Prague - Budapest
After breakfast departure for a day's trip to Budapest. Drive through constantly changing landscapes, passing the towns of Brno, Drasenhofen, Zissersdorf, Hainburg and Nickelsdorf. Lunch en-route (not included). Dinner and overnight at Hotel Flamenco or similar.

Day 5, Budapest
Morning sightseeing tour of Budapest, including Hero's Square with the Millennium Monument and important public buildings. The tour continues to Gellert Hill and the Castle District, including a visit to St Matthew's Church and Fishermen's Bastion. From here you have a spectacular view over the city. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening you will have the opportunity to participate in a traditional folkloric dinner [optional].

Day 6, Budapest - Vienna
Drive from Budapest via Székesfehérvár to Lake Balaton, the largest steppe lake in Europe and one of the most popular resort areas in Hungary. Visit to the peninsula of Tihany and opportunity for lunch. Afterwards the journey continues along the lake via the spa resort of Sarvar and the historical town of Sopron to the Austro-Hungarian border and through the Burgenland back to Vienna.

Day 7, Vienna
Day at leisure, transfer to airport
