In a comfortable minivan we will show you points of interest one just has to see when visiting Salzburg. Your personal English speaking guide shows you the historical and architectural landmarks in the city, as well as part of the picturesque Salzkammergut countryside, along with many of the highlights from the film Sound of Music. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon amidst Salzburg's enchanting surroundings.

4.2.3 SOUND OF MUSIC TOUR
Departure: Daily at 09:30 and 14:00
Duration: 4 hours

A wonderful ride with breathtaking views of the landscapes where the opening scenes were filmed. Relax and listen to the original Sound of Music soundtrack.
Some of the attractions that will be visited include:
Mirabell Gardens, Leopoldskron Castle, Leopoldskron Lake, Hellbrunn Castle
Nonnberg Abbey, St.Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang, Mondsee Church.

4.2.4 ICE CAVES

Duration: approx. 5 hours

Travel along majestic Alpine roads to the largest ice caves and underground glacier in the world. An adventurous experience taking you deep into the 'Salzburg Alps'. Highlights on the tour include: Castle Werfen, the impregnable castle controlling the valley and the Ice Caves.

4.2.5 LAKES AND MOUNTAINS

Duration: 4 hours

The Lake District with its natural beauty and exceptional landscape already hosted the Austrian Emperor Franz-Josef and his family for their summer vacation. Splendid hunts were held there by Salzburgs Prince Archbishops. On this tour you can experience the breathtaking beauty of one of Austria's most beautiful regions - the Lake District just beyond the gates of Salzburg. With a view down to Salzburg we begin our excursion to the scenic and historical landmarks of the surroundings.
In St. Wolfgang there is time to visit the famous winged gothic altar by Michael Pacher and a stop at the 'White Horse Inn' for refreshments. From St. Wolfgang we will go by boat (May 1st - Oct 26th) to St. Gilgen on the other side of Lake St. Wolfgang. Passing Castle Hüttenstein we continue along the Mondsee. The everchanging and contrasting scenery will make this tour an unforgettable memory.

4.2.6 BAVARIAN MOUNTAINS

Duration: 4 hours

In the Bavarian Alps above the Obersalzberg stands the former mountain residence of Hitler. It offers magnificent views across the snowcapped peaks of the surrounding mountains. Passing the Castle Hellbrunn, through Anif we arrive at the German border. Driving along the Königseeache, through the lovely valley and picturesque farmland to Unterau we start our ascent to the Obersalzberg. We stop here to see what is left of Hitler's mountains compound and to enjoy the wonderful panorama. We then continue down the Königsee or Echo Lake. There is time for a stroll along the lake. On the way back we stop in Berchtesgaden where you can look around the village and enjoy some refreshments.

4.2.7 SALTMINES
Departure:
Daily at 09:00 and 14:00
Duration: 4 hours

Drive past the hunting castle Hellbrunn we pass the Austrian-Bavarian border. Along the Königseeache valley and through the Bavarian Mountains we arrive at the highlight of the journey, the 450 year old Saltmines.
Wearing the traditional miners' clothing, you enter the mines and hear the historical as well as the legendary tales of the fascinating underground world. Using the same slides as hundreds of miners before you, you go down a hundred feet long slide into the grottos, the magical world beneath the surface of the earth. With a raft ride on the salt lake and a miniature train ride we end our romantic and educational adventure.
Afterwards you have the chance to regain your strength with some Bavarian specialties during a stop in Berchtesgaden.

4.2.8 EAGLE'S NEST
Departure:
Daily at 09:00 (from 15 May - 31 Oct)
Duration: 4 ½ hours

Drive past the Austrian-Bavarian border, along the Königsee River Valley and through the Bavarian mountains to arrive at the highlight of our journey, a bus and elevator will bring us to the Eagle's Nest. The adventurous bus ride along the steep rock walls and deep gorges takes about 20 minutes. During the journey you will have a splendid view up to the 'Hoher Goell' and across the snowcapped peaks of the Bavarian Mountains. With the elevator (length 365 ft) you enter the Eagle's Nest (5.000 ft). On the way down contented faces are living proof that it was a successful excursion and many of the guests will return again and again to the Eagle's Nest.

4.2.9 MOZART TOUR
Departure:
Daily at 09:30, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00
Duration: 1½ hours bus tour and 1 hour at Mozart Residence

Salzburg City Sightseeing Tour including the reopened Mozart residence. The tour will give you an insight into the Gothic, Renaissance and baroque aspects of the city as Mozart saw it. After the bus tour, you will visit the Mozart Residence.

4.2.10 PANORAMA CITY TOUR

Daily at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00
Duration: 1 hour

The tour leads you from Schloß Mirabell through the new part of the City: Mozarteum, Mozart's Residence - over the Staatsbrücke into the baroque Old Town with the Dome and the festival quarter. Passing the Nonnberg Abbey we see Castle leopoldskron and return to Mirabell Square.

4.2.11 CLASSIC SALZBURG
